Aims
AEM Yorkshire aims to provide a focus for all of the information that businesses in this sector need to increase their competitive advantage. This includes highlighting the business support available through Yorkshire Forward, Business Link and other initiatives, as well as creating a network of learning and collaboration opportunities with technology and sector-focussed workshops, seminars and other events.
The activities of AEM Yorkshire will:
- Establish the region as a global centre for Advanced Engineering and Materials
- Raise the region’s national and international profile
- Create an environment which enables existing and emergent AEM businesses to succeed and thrive; and
- Create a coordinated support programme that demonstrably enhances the growth and competitiveness of regional companies.
Industry issues such as the availability of a suitably skilled workforce, creating a culture of innovation and technology transfer are also addressed through different strands of the AEM Yorkshire network.
