The purpose of the employee development programme is to offer AEM Technical personnel a structured, professional continuous skills development programme. It allows both employers and employees to gain maximum benefit by providing a wide range of disparate opportunities

Short Technical courses

This strand of the HLS programme delivers short technical courses and technical modules into the Part Time MSc Materials and Manufacturing Management and Advanced Engineering Metals in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University.

Leadership and Innovation Seminars

As part of the Higher Level Skills Programme, NAMETC is organising a series of seminars on Innovation and Leadership, from individuals who are either leaders in the AEM sector or who bring expertise in business and innovation.

New Manager Training

Within the Higher Level Skills programme, NAMTEC has been involved in development of a 6 day programme to offer Management and Leadership skills to experienced Engineers/Skilled Technicians working for AEM companies in the Yorkshire & Humber area. This group are typically highly skilled in the technical aspects of their jobs but may not yet have the managerial skills that their role now demands.

This 3 x 2 day course, to run in November/December 2009 and January 2010, will cover various aspects of project management, people skills, leadership development and business acumen.
