Services
Some of the services available through AEM Yorkshire:
AEM Yorkshire Company Directory
One of the potential issues with developing or acquiring new technologies is the need to source other companies within your supply chain. This is also an issue that faces inward investors looking to relocated or set up businesses in the region. Our Company Directory is searchable by application, products and processes, providing access to over 1500 AEM sector companies.
Knowledge Base Access
Our region has several world class universities, with a wealth of expertise in all aspects of engineering and materials science. Companies can benefit from working with universities in getting access to state of the art information and technologies. Universities benefit too, as it gives students a better understanding of engineering issues in the ‘real world'.
There are different approaches that companies can take to engage with this expertise, one option is via Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) with extended placements of a Masters or PhD student. For smaller companies however, it may be more appropriate to work with a final year student on a project, where the costs to the company are lower. Visit our Undergraduate Development page to find out more.
Report Library
There is a huge amount of information published each year on the impact of new technologies, supply chains, horizon scanning and issues facing engineering companies. Finding it all - or even finding out what exists - can be daunting. The AEM website will provide database of such publications. The reports, found in the Resources area, will include government and commercial reports, and also journal articles providing broad overviews of progress in particular sectors.
Career Support
Even during these difficult times, an increasing number of companies are saying that their biggest issue is finding skilled staff to fill jobs. Companies can advertise vacancies for engineering or technical positions, free on our website. We will be distributing leaflets to jobcentres in the region promoting the AEM Yorkshire website and helping those companies to fill their vacancies.
Networking
We will be holding a full programme of events each year that enables companies to keep up to speed with emergent market opportunities, new technologies and constantly changing legislative requirements. The events programme also brings companies together with the supply chain leaders and decision makers, and creates opportunities for companies to access the UK's world leading research and technology centres and Universities.
Market access
Our quarterly journal, AEM Matters, includes reviews on a wide range of topics and it is hoped that some of those will be defined by our readers. These in-depth reviews will provide high quality, high value market information, as well as detailing opportunities and developments within a number of supply chain sectors.
The first edition was launched in June, click here to download a copy.
