Support and Funding
No matter how small or large your company, there are times when a little assistance is required to help the organisation grow and prosper. Whether through capital investment in new plant, gaining access to new markets, streamlining operations, investing in R&D or up-skilling your workforce, chances are there is a scheme out there to help.
Advanced Engineering and Materials is a priority sector, as such, it receives a great deal of support in the form of grants, loans, awards, tax relief and consultancy. This funding comes from many sources including regional agencies, national government schemes and the European Commission, finding the right funding for your business can sometimes seem like a daunting task. However, there are useful sources of information and easy to use searchable databases which help to simplify matters.
For all schemes applicable to the Yorkshire and Humber region the best place to start your search is the Yorkshire Forward website. This provides excellent information on the types of schemes available, what level of funding can be obtained and which type of companies are eligible.
If you are looking for a specific scheme or know the type of funding you require then the Business Link Grants and Support Directory is a useful tool to find out more detail about the scheme.
To give you an idea of the amount of support available, the j4b Grants directory currently lists over 180 schemes for LEs and over 230 schemes for SMEs, all related to the sector Manufacturing (engineering & general fabrication).
